Healing is an integral part of the Christian Tradition.
The Bible says:
"I have come in order that you might have life -- life in all its fullness." John 10:10
"And he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick." Luke 9:2
Our Parish Nurse is Lori Salisbury RN. Parish Nursing is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition, consistent with the basic assumptions of all faiths that we care for self and others as an expression of God's Love.The mission of parish nursing is the integration of the practice of faith with the practice of nursing so that people can achieve wholeness through the community of faith in which parish nurses serve.
Parish Nurses Assist Congregations by:
- Helping them to identify individual beliefs and needs related to healing.
- Developing wellness programs.
- Refering them to appropriate health care providers as needed.
- Offering Blood pressure screenings
- Working with clergy or Health Care Professionals to promote the concepts of wholistic healing.
